Statement of Purpose

The Association of Girl Scout Executive Staff (AGSES), established in 1939, is the national professional organization maintained for the purpose of enhancing professional excellence for all employed and formerly employed Girl Scout staff. AGSES is an independent, voluntary association and is an active, working organization that encourages participation from every member. 

 

AGSES serves as a nationwide voice for all Girl Scout staff. Working in partnership with GSUSA and other professional groups throughout the country, the organization continues to examine the needs of its membership - securing valuable work-related benefits for Girl Scout staff.

One of AGSES' greatest assets is delivering high quality-low cost services to members by way of skill-building workshops, communication tools, and other opportunities for professional and personal learning. AGSES activities and events set the perfect stage for personal development, networking, camaraderie, and friendship with Girl Scout staff in other councils.  


Vision Statement

AGSES defines the Girl Scout profession. The organization does that through the following three areas of focus:

  • Professional Development opportunities that build skills and competencies for individuals employed in Girl Scouting and that build capacity for the organization.
  • Promotion of Girl Scouting as a career.
  • Advocacy on behalf of Girl Scout employed staff.
